Again, to the seven people reading this blog, I had a 7:30PM baseball game in reading so yeah couldn’t do a post. But the Nationals series was disappointing. The Giants series however, was not! The first game was good until Dylan Covey entered the game (of course). I don’t care if it’s a 40 run game. I just want someone who throws strikes (he threw 9 strikes out of 25 pitches) to get the game over with. When you have an infinite ERA in a game that ain’t good. In other news, Bryce and Trea are back, Bryce going yard in every game. I thought his power was zapped but oh no not this freak. That laser shot yesterday gave me flashbacks of 2021 when he’d tie the game up or hit a go-ahead homer only for someone else to crap the bed (JT and Kimbrel yesterday). I love JT and somehow his average in August is .288, but you CANNOT swing at that two strike pitch. They teach you to swing “at anything close” which that pitch was not. Even if it was a fastball, it would’ve been at least six inches outside. But he pulled a 2022 Castellanos and flailed at it weakly. I get Kimbrel has been lockdown but lately he’s worrying me. He has a 4.50 ERA which for a closer is pretty bad. I think the innings are finally catching up to him. I wouldn’t be shocked if he did a phantom stint on the IL just to give him a rest. We gotta take 2 or sweep the Cards this series to distance ourselves. Stay hot Trea and Bryce!
