I’m sure the six people reading this are ready to riot after I didn’t post after the Braves series. First off, I had school/a cold. Second, I was too dejected after what happened. Anyway, coming off an okay series against the Cards, I’m back. Initial thoughts: wow the bullpen is cooked. And Aaron Nola. I’ll start there. I’m tired of talking about how Nola gives up runs and can’t get past the 6th inning. 5 bullpen pitchers were used Friday night. WAY too much. 4 used Saturday, including Hoffman who threw 42 pitches this weekend. He’ll probably jinx this but he’s the only guy I trust in there. Nobody else has proven they can hold a lead. Strahm is wild, Kimbrel walks too many guys, Seranthony is just broken in my opinion, and Alvarado has had some control issues. It’s not like we’re in Atlanta and can go to the lab and make eight Jeff Hoffmans. God I wish. Positively, the offense put up five or more every game and more than three every game except for two since the Marlins series which was a week and a half ago. So they aren’t the problem (except JT at home). I just see the Cubs being incapable of losing and it really worries me. So please go win just once in the hellhole that is Truist Park.
