That’s a sweep ladies and gentlemen! I’m so proud of Aaron Nola first off. That game yesterday could easily be a 5 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs statline. But no! 7 innings! ONE hit! NO runs! Who is this guy? If we get that version of Nola in the playoffs, look out. The rotation was, in my opinion, the best part of the series. I know the offense put up 22 runs over three games but guess what? The starters put up 20 innings (Sanchez 6, Wheeler 7+, Nola 7). And Friday could easily have gotten out of hand after the two run first inning. But Sanchez and the pen locked it down and let the offense rake. That’s the winning formula this team needs. If our starter goes 6 innings plus, gives up less than four runs, we will be perfectly fine. Wheeler on Saturday looked like 2021 Wheeler. 7 innings, three hits, one run, 10 K’s. And Nola I’ve mentioned. However, the offense shouldn’t be deprived of credit. Of course the day Bob Barker dies, Casty goes yard. Bryce just continues to absolutely hit the crap out of the ball. In August, he’s hitting .360 with 19 RBI and seven dingers. I was scared his power would be gone for this year but it seems to be back! Side note, I have no idea why he isn’t playing 1st every day. Maybe they think what Bryce is doing at DH is outweighing what Schwarber is doing in left. Quickly on Schwarber, two more Schwarbombs this weekend! This team is finding their stride at the right time. I don’t care if it’s the Cardinals. They’re taking care of business. Ideally, two of three from the Angels is what I’m shooting for!
