Broad Street BoomSticks: a Phillies Baseball Fan Blog

First, I know I missed a series. I was away playing baseball haha. Second off, we’re so back. That series was looking grim after Friday’s game but sweeping the double header on Saturday was huge. Then Sunday happened. I went to the game at 12:30 and was there until 8:15. Just like we drew it up right? What a game! Kim going yard first was a little nerve-racking, but Wheeler sort of calmed down then really settled down after the 5th. That was the Wheeler start we needed. His velo wasn’t dipping which is good. It’s been about five starts since we’ve been like yeah that’s our ace and this was the start we needed. Soto needs to figure it out. He didn’t exactly help out Wheels but thank God for Jeff Hoffman. Two innings plus the win was huge. I want to get this out of the way but can we please get rid of Darick Hall? An average of .174 is not cutting it in the bigs. Plus the two K’s. He’s not just bad but he’s a liability. We need Bryce at first which kills two birds in one stone by getting Schwarber at DH and Rojas in left. I don’t know how good Rojas will be long term but we need an outfielder (Juan Soto maybe?) at the deadline. I’ll talk about that after the Brewers series (need to take two of three).
